Proxy Issue

Good Day

 

I am new to AutoCAD 2015LT. I hope someone can help me with this. I created an architectual detail drawing using 2011LT (licenced) at home but then modified it using a 3D design software called Visionrez which was an add-on to AutoCAD Architecture 2014 at work which is all we had at the time. We have since dropped VisionREZ and purchased AutoCAD 2015LT. My problem is that VisionREZ left an unavaliable ObjectARX (see error attachment PDF) within the drawing that will not allow me to save my drawing back so clients can open it in older versions. Autodesk suggests downloading an enabler but I didn't see one for 2015LT in their list. I am not a proficient user and would appreciate any help.

Editing Link from excel in AutoCAD LT 2015 with 2 users ISSUE

I am having an issue with editing an excel link when some one else on another computer is using the file. I am using AutoCAD LT 2015

 

Situation. I have created a template that we use internally and linked various excel tables to the template (via ctl-C from excel, then past special, link, link MS excel work book in CAD...)

 

I then Saved the template (.dwg) and excel file in the same folder labeled "Template" to a share drive our company uses on our server. Everything works well and links just fine until you have two people with the excel folder open at the same time. We copied the file to our desktops so it is not coming straight from the file share server. But for some reason It still won't let us edit the excel at the same time. I get a pop up saying that the file is locked for editing by another user. With options to "Notify", "Read Only" or cancel. I cannot seem to figure out how to fix this problem. 

 

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Unresolved xref

My issue is that the xref does not load upon opening the file until I manually go into xref tree and click reload.  Is there any way to force autocad to look at the file path and obey?

 

Child drawing is in the same directory and level as it's parent.  

I have attached the child (base file) twice to the parent drawing.  

I renamed the first xref and then attached the same file again so we could modify the layers of the base file independently in model space.  

 

This allows for very powerful use of base plan/ overlay file to display different info about the same object in efficient manner.

Converting to Arc

FATAL ERROR: Error Code (0x64660005) When Opening Drawing On Windows 7 64bit

From reading posts here, I understand that Autocad LT 2002.Ink was not designed to run on a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system and this is the reason I am getting errors such as "Fatal Error: Error code (0x64560005) c:smileytongue:rogram files (x86)\common files\autodesk shared\ acismobj15.dbx" and "Error code (0x63ca0005) c:\program files (x86)\common files\autodesk shred\ acSIobj.dbx)" and the program is closing down.  The organization I work for recently changed the operating system on my computer from 32-bit Windows 7 to 64-bit Windows 7.  I was running Autocad LT 2012 successfully on the 32-bit system.  They do not want to purchase Autocad LT 2012 for the 64-bit Windows 7 operating sytstem so they loaded Autocad LT 2002. 

 

I am a professional Landscape Architect and use Autocad daily for several hours a day with a heavy workload.  This change just occurred today.  My initial attempts to work with this setup have been a failure and in my attempt to understand the errors I am getting, I came across information from your forum.  If my understanding is correct, that this software and the 64-bit Windows 7 OS are incompatible, or poorly compatible, I will would greatly appreciate a professional opinion from this forum to verify this.  With the volume of work I do, I don't need to be trying time-consuming work-arounds, or producing less than professional documents. 

 

With this information, I hope to go to the powers-that-be to get the proper software.  Thank you for your help.

Dimension Tool doesn't work after a while

When I try to dimension a simple drawing (I'm a beginner with AutoCAD Lt) I get three lines, just as if I had drawn three lines, instead of the dimension, the leader lines, and the dimensionline with the value in the middle and the arrows.  But then an insert appears with information on what I just dimensioned, to include the dimension.

 

But if I start a new drawing, and draw a rectangle, for instance, I can dimension it.  But it seems after a while my drawing won't dimension properly.

 

Am I not saving or closing properly?  I have had some error messages saying my drawing is being used by "me" and so I can't access it except in a read only file.

 

This is frustrating, but probably easily fixed.  I just need the clue.  Thanks for help.

Autocad LT or not Autocad LT, floorplans and elevations, what program?

Good morning,

 

I'm looking for some advice from the Autodesk users who have experience with the many different products that Autodesk have (there's quite a few! a bit like a minefield!!).

 

A few months ago I started working with my father who runs a business drawing extension plans for residential houses along with a few new builds. He currently draws his plans using a drawing board but would like me to draw plans on a CAD program.

 

As we draw floor plans, elevations and sections all in 2d I subscribed to Autocad 2015 LT which we have been using for 4-5 months now. We have been creating everything from scratch which does take its time. As we have come across fellow drafters we have been asking what programs they use which range from Caddie, Archicad and a few others but never any Autodesk products. I would like to stay with Autodesk but is Autocad 2015 LT the best program to use? or is something like Revit better for what we need?

 

We don't currently do 3d due to the length of time we would need to create something in 3d, but it would be an option for a few years down the line once we get more fluent with the program.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Multiline atribute

Hello,

 

i have this block that i usualy mirror.

Then, if i edit the text for each of the block in part it works fine.

But if i try to edit the contet fron the properties pannel it moves the text fron all the other blocks to the same place.

Is there a way to avoid this?

I have AutoCAD LT 2015 on a comptuer that has a virus and needs to be rebuilt. I would like to transfer the license to another computer in the mean time. Do I just uninstall the license and reinstall on another machine? I tried to use the Tranfer Utility but i'm getting a message that it isnt available in this version. Please help.

Eliminar Bloques dinámicos

Estimados, tengo un problema con un archivo dwg, tiene bloques dinámicos, donde figuran todos los tamaños de hojas, y demas bloques, lo que necesito es dejar el archivo lo mas liviano posible y tratar de dejar todo en un mismo layer. Realice un PURGE, pero me aparecen varios objetos que no se pueden eliminar. Quisiera saber si me dan una mano ya que necesito tener el archivo dwg lo mas basico y explotado posible, ya que necesito pasarlo a la herramienta SmartSketch, y evitar el re-dibujado en esta ultima herramienta.

Plotting a dwg to a pdf printer locks up the program and forces you to abort the program. I am runniing 2015 LT with SP2.  The dwg is an Xref with a .sid backgroung.

Image frames haunting drawings

Recently I began using inserted jpg graphics in my drawings, but constantly have problems with the image frame showing up. I was creating the pdf's by using the Exportpdf command for single sheets and Publish to pdf for multiple sheets.

I have tried turning all frames off, setting Frameselection to off, etc, nothing has worked consistently, the image border seems to haunt my drawings.

In the past I used pdf995 to create pdf's but had abandoned it when LT's pdf creation module was improved. Today I downloaded pdf995 and created the pdf's using it and guess what...NO frames around the images in the pdf's.

Unfortunately this means not being able to create the nice sheet sets like ACAD LT can do using Publish, or I have to make it a policy to never use inserted images in my construction drawings...bummer.

Activation

I have done everything to activate and register my product. I have the activation code but I cannot get to the screen to actually enter the code. I have an error code to contact my administrator but this is a home office computer. Any suggestion as i need to work on my project today.

AEC Wall

I am looking for an AutoLISP program to extract attributes from blocks and create a "Parts List Table".  I guess it would be an ehancement to ATTEXT to count the repeat occurrences and create a table within AutoCAD LT instead of outputting a .txt file.  So, the program would have to extract the following from a block named "sesllc_item callout"

  • NO
  • VEND
  • DESC
  • PN

Then count all occurrences of NO and create a QTY column

 

Any help appreciated!!!
