Auto CAD LT 2018 Hatch

Every time I try to hatch it takes a very long time, if it hatches at all. I'm wasting so much of my time with minutia details.

 

The wheel just spins. I use other 3D programs where I can easily rotate a drawing with detail - But AutoCAD 2D hatching dogs my computer something terrible. The crosshairs skip and cannot land in the correct space. It can take 5 minutes to hatch a single wall. I don't have any custom hatches installed right now. I lost them all when I upgraded for 2015 to 2018. (Very frustrating)

 

When I hatch I close all other programs that are open. Today I even rebooted and opened the program with nothing else running. Thanks for any help!

Hi Guys, I am trying to save a bit of time when creating furniture that (2d) that requires a "notch" at right angles - nearly always 50 x 50mm

Crosshairs disappeared and now have co-ordinates

Not sure how it happened, or what I did.

 

Before - eg. if I wanted to draw a line, I would select "Line", and then use my crosshairs to freehand, or snap to the point i want, and then snap to the second point. I have a line.

 

But now, I select "Line" and my crosshairs are gone, and instead, I have a double co-ordinate box for a pointer. I cant snap to with that.

 

I'm only new to this software, and I've looked at seemingly every possible setting. Sounds so simple

 

Help, please!

Update attributes in Titleblock FAST

Hi,

 

I have a company Titleblock, with defined attributes drawing number, rev, description etc...  How do I update a projects worth of drawings fast?  If all drawing need a rev change before I issue to the client how can I do this without opening each drawing??

 

Is Sheetset the best way, or do i need a script to do this?  I have struggled with starting my sheetset so I wonder if this is the best option.  Is there a beginner guide to sheetset?

LT 2018 - M.Text Size differs.

AutoCAD LT 2018, PC, Win 7.

 

Selected all M.Text in a drawing and set height to '300' on the properties menu. When double clicking the M.Text (to edit content) not all the text has changed to '300' in height (but still shows 300 in the properties tab).. All text is the same style.

 

Anyone seen this before?

Colour layout nightmare!

Hi there

I am having a nightmare as when in layout some of my model is missing.  I have checked that all my black / white  layers are set to colour no. 7.  Am i right in that this means it is white in model and black in layout?  

 

It is driving me nuts please help!

Leica Disto S910 and Windows 7

I am trying to use the Leica transfer software to Autocad but it looks like the transfer software is only available for Windows 8.1 or higher.  Is there a fix to get the S910 to work with autocad with windows 7?

New Seat.

Last week I installed AutoCAD LT onto a new PC. At no time during the installation was I asked for a product activation code. Once CAD was installed, it worked fine without any issues. This week however, I have been having issues which manifest themselves as what would appear to be unable to move the cross hairs over a polyline. The cross hairs stop and momentarily freeze. Within a minute they can be moved again. First time this happened earlier today, I closed CAD only to get an error report pop up page. That then resulted in a message from AutoCAD CER suggestion I needed to install the latest maintenance update. Eventually managed to do so, but issue still exists, cross hairs finding it hard to get over a polyline. Hardware acceleration has been turned off and on, same issue.

 

Any thoughts? Reinstall LT and hope for activation code to be requested? New mouse?

Hatching not Printing

Odd problem with hatching. I have a tech using AutoCAD LT 2017 and sometimes his hatch does not print even though it shows up in the print preview. It does not happen every time and sometimes some of the hatch will print and other portions will not. Often time all he has to do is reopen the .dwg and and reprint it but that wastes time and paper. I have no idea where to even begin looking for where the problem could be. Thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone may have.

I downloaded the autocad LT 2018 version for MAC. when i opened it, i dont see all the task bars, and the icons, is this the way this version is? Please help me. looks im missing something. maybe install somthing else besides this???

Sequential Autosave

So is there a way to set the autosave to work sequentially not consecutively?

I have read numerous posts and no this is not to do with bad file saving methodology.

This is primarily to help me ensure time sheets are accurate.

Where I used to work we used a peice of software called Caddie not Autocad and it autosaved every drawing every 15mins back to a single folder, yes this eventually took up a load of space.

This was particularly usefull if I was jumping between multiple drawings I could ensure that I only allocated time back to the client whose drawing size had changed in the 15 mins, if I doing some concept work than doing a save as every 30seconds would be impractical or had a client claim that the hours were unreasonable i could print a 15min by 15min set of drawings to show works done.

just Plotting along.....

Hey guys.. quick question about plotting.

 

I've been using AutoCAD for just over 2 years with no formal training other than a few youtube videos here and there.  Today's question is in regard to plotting.  When I'm ready to plot my sheets, is there a way to do it all at once, or am I doing it the only way there is...one sheet at a time?  Im using AutoCAD LT 2018.

Help Language

In AutoCAD LT 2017, the help displays in English but prints out in some other language.   The help window shows "English" in the language selection drop down.  How can this be fixed.

Search

editing polylines

We are having a problem to day with AutoCAD LT 2018 which we were not having yesterday. We are running the software on Windows 7 system. The problem occurred when we go to edit a polyline so we can add a new vertex. Yesterday we could select a polyline then click on a central line vertex which would add a new vertex. Now it is just stretching the line between the existing two vertex. Why has this command disappeared? How can I fix it to get it back.

Surface finish marks don't show up

When I receive .dwg files from a customer, the surface finish marks don't show up properly in Autocad Lt. They appear as boxes. 

 

When I make my own .dwg from Inventor or open the drawings in DWG Trueview, they surface finish marks show up correctly.

Autocad LT 2017 export to PDF. searchbox can't find "keyword"

Hi,

 

How can i export to PDF , after i can make search in Searchbox some "keyword" text.

 

I have to exemple in attachment

 

exemple  1  can find a text used on drawing  but,

 

exemple 2  can't

 

I would like how to make export from AUTOCAD LT   activate this function ?
