Table with Data Field Links Slow Drawing

Hello,

 

I am experience excessive drawing slowdown after inserting a table in model space with various data field entries. The purpose of this table is so that I can use DWGPROPS and update various fields across 7 sheets all at once. 

 

Without the table and data fields, I can click between sheet tabs at the bottom of my drawing and instantly be able to view and work on a page. With the table/data fields, it takes 5-10 seconds to do so and the longer I work on the drawing, the more delay I see when moving between sheets. At one point, it took me 2 minutes to make any changes. When this happens, I need to save my drawing and restart AutoCAD to get myself back to the 5-10 second delay.

 

The drawing size itself is not large (8mb) and my computer is more than capable of handling AutoCAD 2015 LT.

 

For reference, my computer's specs are as follows:

 

Processor: Intel i5-4460 Quad Core CPU @ 3.20 GHz
Memory: 16.0 GB Total Physical Memory / 8.58 GB Physical Memory
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 (1GB)
Available Hard Drive Space: 450GB

AutoCAD version: 2015 LT

 

Any idea how to increase drawing speed without removing the tables / data fields and without breaking my 7 sheets into individual DWG files?

Tool Palette Title "New Palette -"

I've made some custom tool palettes but the title at the top always says "new Palette - " followed by whatever group i have.

Is there anyway to get rid of this?

 

Its nothing major but it's really annoying me >:|

Upgraded to CAD 2018lt from 2015 lt

TO all,

I have recently upgraded to CAD 2018lt.  I am trying to load my 2015 .pgp file but it is not working.  I have tried the file paths located on this and other sites but it is still not loading when I start 2018.

 

Any thoughts?

AutoCAD LT 2017 opens multiple files in separate windows

The aim is to open a read-only drawing, by clicking on it, into a new tab, not to a new window. One window multiple tabs.

SDI = 0, TASKBAR = 0 (also have tried with 1). Open with AutoCAD DWG Launcher didn't work. Started to open with TrueView instead of LT.

offsetgaptype

I need to modify the default number of Offsetgaptype. Now it’s 0 and I need 2.

I read I have to modify a system variable, but I can’t find offsetgaptype on the variables list, I have only offsetdist.

What’s wrong?

My system has 32 GB of RAM and It still has room for a 16GB Simm

Will adding more RAM make my autocad LT 2012 run faster or would adding more RAM just be a waste of money?

MTEXT mask offset tolerance

Hello,

 

Is there a way to reset the tolerances for the Mtext mask offset?

 

Previously I was able to set it to 1.2 , 1.5 etc.  but now it seems to insist on whole numbers and corrects my entries by rounding them up or down.

 

1 is too little and 2 is too much.

 

 

What magic variable has gone awry in the settings?

Cursor Coordinates

When I click the mouse on the screen, the x y coordinates follow the cursor around on the screen. How do I disable this?

Component Count exporting to sales orders

Hi. we are using autocad LT to design pallet racking. It is possible to generate a component count from the drawing that can be exported into an excel sheet or similar so it can be posted directly into our factory orders?

Converting Autocad drawing to PDF

Hi There,

How do we convert an autocad drawing to a pdf & not lose clarity on lines, e.s if we have multiple parts  on the drawing & want to convert the drawing as a whole, some  lines are heavy & unreadeable, but other parts of the drawing are easy to read.

To change the line weights is a big job.

 

can you advise if we are selecting the incorrect way of going about this?

I have attached a File we have pdfed as a sample.

Autocad Hanging issue

Dear Team,

 

I am  using Autocad 2014 LT Edition with I7, 8 GB RAM and 4 GB Graphics card. The Autocad is working too slow and frequently haging. I have formatted the PC but the problem still persist please share me some solution for the issue

Dual Monitors ~ Second Monitor Graphics Not Acting Correctly

I just moved to an HP Spectre x360 Laptop that is hooked to dual ViewSonic monitors via a plugable brand USB-C Docking station.  If you have the Spectre you know the battle it takes to get your images cleanly up on two monitors.  The laptop stays closed and the dual monitors are, from left to right, identified as 1 and 2 respectively.  When I have Autocad opened on the #1 monitor, the graphics are clean and movement on the screen scroll smoothly.  However, if the Autocad window is moved to the #2 monitor, the images when moving tear and there is a considerable lag from the input to the actual movement.  Anyone else have this issue?

 

Side notes:  I have Autocad 2015 and just tried the free 30 day 2018 version.  Happens on both versions.  Also, I just moved over from a Dell laptop on the same monitors with a factory Dell docking station.  There was never an issue with the graphics.

AutoCAD LT 2002 TOOLTIPS Location

I have 2 monitors.  I run ACAD on the right hand monitor.  TOOLTIPS show up on the right side edge of the LEFT hand monitor.  Is there a way to move the location of TOOLTIPS?   If I move ACAD to the left monitor then the TOOLTIPS don't display.  If I downsize the working area on the right monitor it still displays on the left monitor.  See attached file.

xref not visible after attaching

New user of AutoCAD LT 2018.

Trying to attach an xref PDF (of an aerial image) into my drawing of a golf course irrigation system.

I set current layer to 0.

Able to Attach, set insertion point, scale and rotation on the drawing.

Able to set fade, brightness and contrast to 50%.

Working in Model.

Frame of xref is visible and I can grab it, but the image does not show.

I have detached and re-attached with same result.

It appears that you cannot drag/drop the filters in the layer manager?

 

Is that by design? or just a variable somewhere?
