I have a new PC and need to transfer my AutoCad LT 2008 to it. I don't have the LTU facility and everywhere I've looked on the Auto Cad website says to use the PLU to transfer but I can't find what the PLU is or how to use it!

Can anyone help??

I have seen another post here but nothing suggested has helped as yet.  When I switch between tabs it can take 8-10 seconds  The delay when I zoom in on a tab is maybe 3 seconds but quick in model space.  When I hold the cursor over the tabs, the small preview appears properly and reasonably quickly.  The Command line shows "Switching to: A8, Regenerating Layout, Regenerating Model"

(I have noticed that my linetypes in existing drawings seem to vary also (from closely spaced dashes in 2013, to nearly continuous lines in 2015), but I only mention that as a noticed difference, and I am not suggesting it is related.)

I have a reasonably new Dell T3610 Precision Workstation with 32 GB RAM, 64-bit Windows 7 and AMD FirePro W7000 (FireGL V) 4 monitor graphics card.  I am using the AMD 13.352.1019.0 driver.  Windows is up-to-date.  The AMD Catalyst application is up-to-date. 

As best I know, the above are AutoDesk supported.

I do not have any Cloud storage interactive with my files.

I have tried Hardware Acceleration on and off but it seemed to make no difference.

Performance under ACAD LT 2013 in general and with the target files (I have tried many) remains crisp and problem-free.

I did spot the suggestion to reset 2015 to defaults (because I had migrated from 2013) so I did that.  No change at all.

I spotted a suggestion that phantom drives listed in the file search path could be a factor but I checked every line and all are on drive C.

I spotted a suggestion to run CONVERT on hatches but that seems to simply convert most of my hatches to solids - albeit it did speed up tab switching.

Drive C is a 500GB SSD at 50% capacity with all system and applications and user roaming, etc.  Drive D is a 2TB SATA drive at 25% capacity with data files only.

Can you folks maybe point me to a few things that might help find teh cause and fix the delay issue?

I have been using AutoCAD LT 2004 for some years on a rather old computer operating Windows XP.  The computer finally died and I'm attempting to reload on a newer computer operating Windows 7 Home Premium.  Is this compatible or is there a way I can run the program on this newer operating system?

My AutoCAD LT 2013 locks up while using the "Look in:" pull down to navigate to files in the open dialog box. Has anybody seen this and can they help?

Will any body kindly help me on the above issue  and or any tool by which I can install AUTOCAD LT 2009 in my laptop with WINDOW 8.1.  my e-mail ID  basu.swapan@gmail.com

I've read similar posts...but here goes...

Purchased AutoCad LT, downloaded 2015 64 bit version. Ready to get to work, arrive at the "activation" screen, and the serial number, and product key are correctly entered, but the "activate" button remains greyed out. Instead, there's a button / tab right next to it that says..."contact your administrator for permission to use this product" or i have the option of "signing in as a different user"...well, i'm the only user, and even though i tried at least 50 times, i cant add anyone, real or fictitious to the users list in the online management of my account - i tried all my different email accounts, and when i press "add" the autodesk website thinks for a few moments, and then nothing shows up...no one has been added to the users list, tried it over and over and over in all sorts of configurations....uuuugggghhhh !

this is by the way a "rental" or subscription...i contacted support - several times via the chat interface, and got several emails, with activation codes, but that's not what i need, i need to actually be able to enter user info and have autodesks webservice "latch" onto actually add me as a user - and i need to be able to activate the program and use it...

autodesk - this is a known and well documented issue, help us out

lastly, everyone who did try to help out was very kind - so thanks are due for time and effort

I am working in AutoCAD 15LT and my co-workers are using AutoCAd 2006LT.  When I create a file and one of my co-workers go in to update and save they are getting an error message and then getting booted out of CAD. (error handler reentered exiting now is what the error says).  I don't know how to fix the problem, my system back saves to version 2004 and updating everyone is not an option at the moment.  Any ideas on how to fix this problem???

I'm working on a drawing and every time I try to input some text using DText I can see it on screen until I hit enter at which point is disappears. I tried to see what was up so I zoomed way out beyond the existing extent of any drawing work and added some text. Now when I zoom extents the extents include the location of the text I can't see. When I create a big pick window I can erase it but can't see any grips.

The same thing happens when I use MText. When I use MText I try to make a nice little box but it always ends up huge and runs off the edge of the drawing.

What is going on?

I'm having trouble with AutoCAD Lt 15. When attempting to click on File tab to plot a drawing or do a save as etc. AutoCAD freezes.

I’ve tried uninstalling and repairing to no avail.

I recently removed my CUI files (accidently) in CUIload command, I reloaded the menus, however now I have no icons on any of my toolbars, I can select new toolbars but again there are no icons shown, I can only see them if I hover over a toolbar and guess where the icon I want is.

Does anybody have any idea as to what has happened and how to fix this problem?

I have been trying to get the list of lines and arcs on my drawings as their coordinates. Does anybody know how to do that? Or if there is a special software can you recommend one?

Help. I tried to download some wood greain hatch patterns and when I saved them to whatever file they were going to, I accidentally deleted a folder that apparently held all the hatch patterns that came with LT. Are those able to be recovered or downloaded again without having to download the whole program? I need an answer in the most basic of terms...

I'm trying to install AutoCAD LT 2015 in Windows 8.1. Actually it's a Mac with a Parallels virtual machine.

When I started Setup.exe it failed because of missing msvcp110.dll and msvcr110.dll files. I found the files on the DVD an copied them to the System32 and SysWOW64 folder. But now:

1. Click the Setup.exe
2. Windows asks for permission, I tell em to execute
3. The DVD drive starts spinning fast
4. A process called "COM Surrogate" is startet 3 times
5. after some seconds the DVD drive stops spinning and the "COM Surrogate"-proccesses disappear.

That's it! No Error, no entry in the event log or anything that would help me to find the problem. Does anyone have an idea what to do now?

My mtext editor box moves depending on how far im zoomed in. I think this could also be part of an issue where by obects ourside my cursor box are selected.

I've had this issue for some months, today ive done a reinstall to solve some other problems (missing searchbar/360 login menu missing).

The reinstall did appear to fix a similar issue where by my grips were missaligned in blockeditor, but this one persists.

Please see attached images of various zoom levels, you can see the box doesnt line up with the text the further i zoom out.

Using the Null option of mtexted.

using oldeditor obviously solves the problem, but I like the ability to zoom and pan whilst editing.

In 2013 we purchased a MacBook Pro and AutoCAD LT 2013 for MAC from the Apple Store. This I installed on my laptop in December of 2013. I have the product version G.55.M.208; unfortunately, no product key.

I want to install AutoCAD LT on my desktop which runs Windows 7 Profession Service Pack 1 64-Bit operation. I do have AutoCAD 2005 LT with CD and key which I retired with my XP laptop. What options do I have to getting AutoCAD installed on my desktop? Thank you

Hi, I've just bought an iMac 27'' with 5K screen.

Installed my AutoCAD LT2015 and due to the resolution of the screen, all of my toolbar buttons have shrunk!

They are set up as large in the drawings preferences, but they are still too small to see properly.

Does anyone know whether Autodesk have got a fix for this please? or are you having the same problems with a high res screen?

Your help would be much appreciated.
