Restricting file access for external references
I am working on a way to restrict access to certain external reference files to prevent accidental/incorrect updates by a certain part of the team. These users occasionally have to work with files that contain these external references but it is not a major portion of their day-to-day. My current thought is to put these files onto a certain part of the server that would not be accessible except for bringing these files into a drawing file as an external reference.
My question is has anyone had any experience with something like this? I'm worried that a workaround could be to edit an xref in place but I am unable to test this out at the moment. If anyone needs more information or for me to further explain, please let me know.

COPY/PASTE GLITCH.... from lingering educational licenses???
I have been experiencing a very frustrating glitch....
I am working in an office with 3 other computers, all licensed with AutoCAD LT 2014. At one point, there were educational licenses on one or all of the computers. This license tends to linger, even after being deleted-- sometimes, when opening certain drawings, it will offer a warning that an educational stamp will occur.
If I open two new drawings, I can copy and paste ONCE between them. After that one time, if I try again, the command works but no pasting object shows up. In order to get it to work, I've found that I have to run both files through TruView, re-open, and then have the ability to paste only ONCE again before the process repeats itself.
I have a feeling it is something between the educational licenses.... do I need to wipe my computer/all of the computers?
Obviously, this is incredibly tedious in an office setting. Please help!

ACAD2018 LT
Started using free trial of AcadLT2018 on 12/27/2017.
Worked fine until today. When trying to open get message "Problem loading acadtres.dll resource file".
Tried searching for the file but can't find it.
Can this be fixed or do I need to uninstall and re-install?

What pc should I purchase to run AutoCAD LT?
Hi all,
I would really appreciate some advice on what pc I should purchase to run AutoCAD LT. I will be generating 2d drawings, no rendering/3D models etc. I'd prefer a laptop but am open to a desktop. Also, the budget is tight, so what's the most economic option? Thanks!

Find not finding blocked text
So I am having some trouble with a CAD file given to me at work.
I have to search numbers through a large file for numbers via the 'FIND' command. However, the file was given to me with all text set as Blocks, therefore the find tool cannot find the text. Also, when i attempt to edit the block, it says that it has no editable attributes.
What I need to know is either how to "Unblock" the text or even how to edit it so that It will then appear in my find search.

Layout in paper space
What is creating the black box in paper space? I want to see the whole screen as black not white.
What should the LT scale be set to for dashed lines to appear correctly in paper space?

How to run "Appload" command in AutoCad LT 2018?
Appload command is working fine in AutoCad 2018 but when I am trying to run the appload command in Autocad LT 2018 it shows that it is a unrecognized command. If someone knows how to load files in autocad LT 2018 then please tell me

Самопроизвольное изменение пути сохранения файлов при пакетной печати в фоне
Добрый день!
Столкнулся с следующей проблемой: при выполнении пакетной печати файла №1 в папку №1, запущенной в фоне, произвожу редактирование файла № 2 из папки №2, при этом, при нажатии "сохранить" в окне файла №2, сохранение файла №2 автоматически производится а папку №1 в которую в этот момент производиться фоновая пакетная печать файла №1.

qualcuno ha idea di cosa significhi?

Sheet List Table Not Inserting Properly...What's going on here?
Please see the attached screencast to get an idea of what is happening here.
Basically, the command auto-cancels out when I try to insert the sheet list table onto my cover sheet.
This isn't the first time it's happened to me. If I keep trying, eventually it will *stick* and not *cancel* out of the command, but this is very frustrating, to say the least. Any idea on why this happens?

<rant>It always seems to happen when I'm trying to meet a deadline, and this is the very last step before publishing, and I have to spend a half an hour or more trying to get this flippin' cover page finished bc of this stupid glitch! </rant>

Main DXF file will not reload after restarting CAD lost hours of work?????
The issue is that all all my component drawings will open just fine. I have a master assembly drawing that I work with almost daily and save often so not to lose any data. When starting CAD (LT 2018) the master drawing will not open, displaying a dialogue box that reads "press ENTER to continue:" This does nothing. This is the second time this has happened.

My LT suddenly started showing a message that said an error prevents it from opening. no matter which file I try to open I get the same message.
"AutoCAD LT has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
Has anyone else had this problem?

I have searched the posts and cannot find what I am looking for...If I am in model space and my dashed lines appear solid, I thought there was something else beside ltscale to change...like precision? Something else that can be off. Any ideas?

Saving Dynamic Block drawings and using them in Tool Palettes
I have created several Dynamic Blocks which have visibility attributes and saved them as .dwg drawings to place in my Tool Palettes. After I placed the drawing in the tool palette I could not pull it from there into my drawing. (Command line said: Block W08 Members references itself.) I must have done something wrong.
I will attach the drawing I created (W08 Members) that does not work and another drawing created by an unknown person (08B## Dynamic) that does work in the tool palettes. Please help get the results that the second drawing gets.

Unhandled e0434f4dh Exception at 75a2845dh
Hi,I am using AutoCAD LT 2011. as Yesterday was normal as I saved all my work to continue working for today, then today I started my job with cleaning my PC using Ccleaner. but then when I start my working autocad file, I recieved the pop-up message "Unhandled e0434f4dh Exception at 75a2845dh". clicking okay and then the application crashed. but If I were to open a new Autocad file, everything seems okay. So i am looking for ways to fix the problem. can anybody please tell me how to solve this. thank you.

AutoCAD LT 2018 Slow
I have installed LT 2018 and there is a long pause between selecting function and operation. This problem stated late last year after windows update on LT 2017 - I was hoping installing LT 2018 would fix the problem but no.
Any ideas???

Keyboard Shortcut for ployline?
Hi All,
Looking for the macro text to draw a ployline then?
I basically want to press a key on the keyboard to start drawing a ployline instead of using the ployline button, so I don't have to move the cursor away from the line.
