Sorry for long questions here. Director has been reluctant to upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 because of no windows 10 drivers for the large plotter - an HP Design jet 800. We are rolling out autocad again to the new licensing structure and came across the dreaded black login screen - tech support rightly then reminded us that windows 7 is no longer supported and we had to upgrade to access any help. Now we have a few PCs on windows 10 which will not print to the plotter and we are hanging onto a couple of PCs on the serial number licensed version and windows 7 whilst we try to work out the way forward without spending out on a new plotter. A few suggestions spring to mind: 1) Buy a plotter with has windows 10 drivers on ebay 2) someone suggested formatting one of the machines as a linux machine and running the plotter and autocad from there 3) print via pdf from a windows 7 machine connected to the plotter....any other suggestions - I have searched for a driver solution - HP have their instant print - that is pretty rubbish. People have suggested installing the 500C driver - that didn't work for me. I have no experience of Linux but happy to give it a go - lots of posts say this wouldnt work.....
