Measure option not working

Good afternoon,

I have AutoCAD LT 2015, and I am having trouble using the measure prompt to measure anything.  Distance, area,...  It worked before, but now I cannot get it to do anything otherthan send me in circles.  It keeps asking me to do the same stuff over again and I cannot get my totals.  Any suggestions?
