Clipped Xrefs all mysteriously moved in all related files?

Hi All,

Here at the office, we've just had a major issue while trying to get a project out. We're using Autocad 2016 LT.

For this particular project we're working on, which is in its own folder with its own xref, every single file shows the xref moved WAY out of the way of where they were originally placed. One minute they were all in the right place, and then upon re-opening them they're moved really far away in model space. Now keep in mind, these are clipped xrefs, and the clip moved as well. If we moved things in the actual file that is xreffed, the clip frames would still be in the right place and they would be blank. That isn't the case.. the frames and all, with the xrefs showing, moved like 9 miles in one direction. And this happened to all of the files in this folder, simultaneously. AND they all moved in the same direction as well. The UCS is world and has remained untouched this whole time. Everyones files are messed up in this ONE project folder. Every other file in any other project foler, xref and all is fine. The xref had a few lines clipped here and there just recently, and then was saved, with no other changes (knowingly) being made. It was after this that the files with that xref in it messed up upon reopening them.

I feel like I keep repeating whats happening, or rambling, but I'm not sure how else to explain what the heck is going on. I created two new files on my desktop and tried to mimic the same thing happening, even messing with the origin points in the xref to see if it would update and move everything in the file containing the xref, but no. I can't mimick this. And if every single file was effected in exactly the same way, it has to be related to the xref. BUT, nothing in the xreft as far as our known lines and other stuff was moved.

Anyone have any ideas? For now we're just moving the clips back into place so we can get this job out. But in case this happens again, I'd really love to know if anyone else has run into this or any other ideas to mimic this occurence.

Thanks! Smiley Happy
