I have finally gotten AutoCAD LT 2016 monthly subscription to install on my Windows 8.1 64-bit computer, but I had the following problems:
1) Install Now didn't work.
It kept giving me the Communications Error message, even after following all tips about disabling firewalls, anti-virus, etc. I finally had to use the Browser Download.
2) Couldn't extract installation files.
When I launched the .exe file to start the installation, it suggested placing the files in c:\Autodesk. I changed that to c:\Program Files\Autodesk. A window opened saying it was starting extraction, but after 15 minutes it had not made any progress. Then I tried canceling the extraction, but it hung trying to cancel the extraction. In the end I just used the c:\Autodesk location.
3) After subscription info entered, Next greyed out
During installation, it asked if I wanted a 30-day trial or to enter my serial number and product key. I entered the serial number and product key, and it showed a check mark in a green circle (making me think it checked that my info was all good), but the Next button was greyed out. There was no way to continue with that info. In the end I selected the 30-day trial, completed the installation, opened AutoCAD LT and entered the serial #/product key.
Could I request that these bugs be documented and brought to the attention of the design team? All were quite frustrating and time-consuming.
Thanks,
Linda
