remote desktop / tablet question

I am a self-employed (no employees) metal fabricator and my shop and offirce are in the same location, separated by a few doors.  I draw on a rental version of 2015 LT in the office, print drawings and  take them into the shop to build (stairs, furniture, machine parts, etc.).  I am in constant need of a dimension or adjustment and am making an inordinate amount of trips through multiple doors, tracking debris, to the computer to get the measurement to go back out to the shop to execute the plan.  Dang, it would be nice to just look it up on the spot, without 30 steps and two doors and letting in the winter air.

So my question is, is there a tablet with mouse configuration that would work for me?  Having a keyboard is out, mostly.  My environment is harsh and generates a lot of fine, magnetized dust that kills electronics quickly.  I would concede to a cheap keyboard that is saran wrapped, but having an actual laptop would be a waste of money (and potentially considered a 2nd seat).  My Alienware computer is just two rooms over, and it would be nice to just tap into it for simple functions.  Even more ideally would be the case that the two machines would reflect one another's changes, but I know someone somewhere would consider this a license breach.  I have considered a few miles of cables to just have a cheap screen, keyboard and mouse in the shop, but I don't want to be limited to drawing standingt up in a shop environment all the time.  Sometimes it is nice to just sit and work it out with a cup of coffee and some Theivery Corporation on the hi-fi out of the cold.  Know what I mean?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.
