Polyline tickmarks & distance from point

Hi all,

I have AutoCAD LT 2008.

I have a polyline representing a car test track. The line forms a convoluted loop. See attached pdf.

I can use the measure command to insert tick marks at 5m intervals along the polyline.

What I would like to do is the following:-

1) Align the tick marks perpendicularly to the polyline.

2) Add distance (chainage) labels every 20m along the polyline..aligned perpendicularly to the polyline.

3) Be able to go to a specified distance along the polyline. For example "go to a point at 1800m from the polyline start (0m) point".

Can I do all or some of this in LT?

I have attached a pdf of the track loop with the results of the measure command at 5m intervals.

I'm no CAD expert so if you are kind enough to supply some information please keep it instructional!
