Hello, This is my first time posting on the forum. I am a drafter at a manufacturing facility and I am fresh out of school. I have a DXF file that was created in 3D model space by an engineer at another manufacturer who's products we use with our own. I need to show a particular view of it on a proposal drawing and this DXF is problematic.
When I open the file in AutoCAD LT 2015 it comes in as a flat pattern in 3D perspecticve (the cross hairs have all 3 axIs lines) so I figurie using the top view found in the view tab is the way to go. After doing that I have the correct perspective, but the drawing's lines are broken up into a huge number of lines.
The engineer over my department said the previous drafter knew a way to convert this into a usable model in "Just a few mouse clicks" I have never done this nor was it covered in any of my classes in college. I would like to use this drawing in my proposal drawing, but I don't want to spend half a day deleting individual lines that are only a fraction of a unit long ( the image shows all lines in the same layer and all lines that were part of the 3D model the flat pattern was made from).
If anyone has a solution for me I would greatly appreciate the help.
