Hiding Model Space Objects behind a Block Reference in Paper Space

Hi,

I am using AutoCad LT 2013 and trying to draw linework in model space with symbols, such as the double circle shown below, in paper space. My intention is for the double circle to appear without the lines beneath it. I do not want to trim the lines as this does not work for multiple layouts and scales. Is there some way of placing the block reference symbol on the corner and have it hide the lines beneath? Thanks.
