Computer(s) and purchasing recommendations with Autodesk LT

Hello forum. I have done a little research, but I'm in a little over my head and looking for some help here. The company I work for is a small business and we need to slowly upgrade all of our computers. We have and use Autodesk 2007 everyday. We cannot get an upgrade price, and we find it silly to try and transfer 2007 to a new computer. We are looking into a newer version of autocad LT. (2014, or I have seen we can get older versions of LT for cheaper? Recommended or not?)

Q: On a tight budget, is there any reason not to purchase a 2012 or 2013 version for cheaper like I've seen online?

Computerwise, Ideally we need a laptop for installs/meetings, AND a new good desktop for another work station. We stay in 2d (which I understand LT does not do 3d), and running XP right now. I think we will want to go to win 7 and not 8 since it is still new.

Q: For our use, no 3d rendering or anything like that what are some good recommendations for desktop and laptop computers?

I don't know anything about computers. Recommendations I've seen are intel core i5-i7, 4GB+ of memory, good res display, and what else? For my use, do I need 64 bit for any reason? I don't know if we need super high graphics card or anything, we're not doing 3d... It would especially help if there are any specific models recommended. We will likely buy from Office Depot as we have an account. How are some of the Dell Inspiron 15R for laptops? or something like the HP ENVY Recline TouchSmart?

Thanks for any help, I understand if I need to do more research, but time is limited as of now.
